Wheat and Lace Leg Warmers (Test Crochet)
Finishing up one leg warmer, hopefully today. The “wheat and lace” part is complete and it’s sewn up (mattress stitch). Today I need to add the ribbing.
This pattern has been a little challenging, not in terms of the actual pattern but just me having to pay bit more attention. That’s not a bad thing, sometimes, especially in crochet – I can appreciate the challenge. It helps keep me motivated and the repeat is pretty easy to memorize once you get the hang of it. I have hopes that the second will go much faster. It’s due by 01/26. But I’m going to aim to finish it by the 20th if I can.
Project has been going smoother, since I started using a stitch marker for the first and last stitch, I kept putting the first stitch of the next row in the turning chain and in this pattern it does not count as a stitch, which the designer so clearly said at the beginning of the pattern.
Flax Worsted (Knit)
Still working on my first sleeve. This pattern has been pretty easy, just required a bit of concentration, and likely at some point I will buy myself some stitch markers to help keep track knit and purl rows. Once I got the yoke established it has made for good "beer drinking" and "meeting" knitting. Although honestly most of the knitting has been done on the floor of my son's room while he plays. Always wants his mama around, rarely wants me to actually play with him.
WIP Still staring me down:...
· Flipdana – I didn’t do a gauge Swatch and now I’m paying the price, I think it’s turning out a bit bigger than the pattern intended. Which is not a bad thing, I have wide shoulders so it’ll probably look more proportionate when it’s done. I’m still on side one. The changing color yarn does keep my interest but I must confess, I am not looking forward to the slog that will be the second half – all in a cool albeit sparkly grey. Maybe it’ll be able to be my “beer knitting”, when I get to it.
· Chevron Lace Cardigan - If I recall, I’m nearly done with one sleeve. Mentally I’m stuck because I’m not sure if the glass buttons I initially
select might be too heavy for the gauge of this garment. I could go without buttons, or I do have some silver buttons that might work with it. These thoughts have had me a bit frozen and it’s causing some procrastination paralysis. That and cracker crumbs got in my bag, knowing I’ve got to eventually clean that out is not a motivating factor I must admit.
Eyeing
The Tolsta tee after I finish this sweater. I have some Ms Bab’s Yowza in Hitchhiker’s birthday that reminds me of birthday cake. I think it would be nice to be at the “mindless” portion by the time I’m on my trip end of February. I bought the pattern today!
