Fun things of February
Feb. 24th, 2026 11:06 amHere's a few moments in February that made me smile.
Going to Symphony of Seasons - I'm a huge Stardew valley fan. I played the game on my desktop and I'm willing to admit that $10 game was a motivating factor in me getting a switch. To have the opportunity to go to the concert and hear the music in person with real instruments was a wonderful! Truly cherished it.
My birthday - Since i have trip planned for the end of the month, I wasn't planning on doing much of anything on my birthday. Also it was the day after the concert. But my Saturday knitting circle insisted and I was able to get drop in daycare (a literal godsend) . We met at my favorite beer hall and knitted, they got me a delicious Publix chantilly cake. And I got to ride my ebike there so it was just fun all around.
My son's birthday - I made his birthday cake and honestly I'm pretty darn proud of myself...even if I had sprinkles everywhere for days. Next year, I'm going to look at possibly using my cricut to make the topper as well, instead of buying it off Amazon at the last minute.
Casting on any project I want - this has been so much fun! To just leave all abandon and cast on whatever project I feel like. It's lead to a bunch of projects that's going to make a heck of a WIP wednesday one of these days but it made me fall in love with my yarn stash again, pick back up learning stranded colorwork, and start my first knitted garment for myself!
And now it's nearly March. It can be easy to focus on the negative with the day to day drudge, short days, and depression. To just take the time to think about the things that made me smile over a month makes me happy and remember, there's usually some good somewhere.
