Well just the walking pneumonia. Perhaps my flu shot stuck and I'll avoid the boogie woogie flu.
My job is a bit hippie granola, so I did mention to few colleagues I have walking pneumonia. Then I can't help but mention the song. Of course many of my co-workers were born in the 90s, a few in the 2000s(how is that legal!? jk) as well as a few international born folk, so when they don't get the joke, I just say when my parents were born there were only 48 states. I have old references sometimes.
Seriously. Who knew this was a thing people still get!?
A couple weeks ago I had a cold that just would not go away. I won't trauma dump with all the TMI details, but it was decidedly unpleasant. And I must admit the recovery...especially these antibiotics (working up the steel to take the last one today), it has not been pleasant.
Before the round of antibiotics, he toughest part about has been the fatigue and the appetite, I went into a hardcore comfort-food mood which I give myself some leniency for a couple days but after a week or so, my body was screaming "please give me more than broth, juice and carbs...please". So I had to get it together.
My fatigue is starting to fade and my brain is feeling much clearer than it did 2 weeks ago. I still don't feel 100% but I'm hoping that getting moving again and some probiotics will help that.
It's been another time that I do love my job. They've been really understanding and I've needed my colleagues help to pick up some of the slack. Asking for help is not my favorite thing to do but I'm glad I did it. In the past, I likely would have delayed everybody else, trying to do it all while I could barely stay awake and let things snowball. I'm 40 and I should've known better by now but hey I do know better now.
On the upside spending so much more time in the house did motivate me to do some decluttering. There's still a long way to go but like my Python skills, every little bit helps.
Speaking of Python, chatting about my active learning on the code has got me assigned to a project that uses the language! It's very exciting and it's those little things that remind me, at the risk of being repetitive, every little bit does help!
