2026 goal update
May. 20th, 2026 02:30 pmIs it good or bad that I'm procrastinating responding to another task request by being here? Is that better than reddit?
I'm going to tell myself yes. Even though the correct answer - just answer the slack message. (Anyone else deal with slack at work? whoever invented this either has ADHD or despises people with ADHD)

Anywho...
- "1 in. 1 out" approach to yarn stash wrangling. Got rid of all the yarn from the knitting machine haul except a few balls (3). No new yarn acquired in April. Used about 80g in April on finished projects, lots of WIPs going on right now. I've been really into long term projects for some reason. I have to regiment so much of my life that I'm just going with it, but I'll be glad when I feel like smaller projects again.
- Make blanket for Gigi. Haven't even started...man this yarn is not my vibe. I love her but this yarn, lionbrand homespun...yeesh.
- Get back into strength training I got back into Ringfit on the switch with varying success on certain weeks. Walking pneumonia did a number on this goal... that and I have lost my dumbbells in a house too small to that. But here we are.
- Home decorating - Came to realize, I had to start by decluttering. Last month got rid of a lot of baby stuff, cried through allot of it, but it got gone. It's also been tough going through my mom's things but slowly but surely, I've made decent progress this year. Got another set of things out this past weekend. As bad as I feel about donating out of season clothes, I've had to accept that's what it is and I can't wait, it's time to let go. Outside-wise I've gotten quotes to remove trees which will be followed up by getting a shed to move some things from laundry closet and my son's room (tools and patio furniture cushions) plus my bike to said shed.
- Figure some career goals I talked to my supervisor about doing more BEM work and I've gotten the opportunity to do some energy modeling this year. Plus work on some projects. My tableau work keeps getting derailed by a major project that's really time-intensive but I keep plugging along. Lately I've been doing better on procrastinating (guess that extra bit of straterra is helping). I'm also starting on some Python related work projects, so that's exciting! And this is going to sound obvious but working hard is tiring.
